New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear -- 405B Blue Rose

I randomly added this to my cart while doing some back to college shopping this afternoon. It is a perfect fuschia shade and looks damn good against my skintone. It goes on smoothly and not all caky and dry when i put it on. I haven't purchased anything NYC in a hot minute but they sure have stepped up their game since i last purchased something from the brand, which was in middle school. Anyways here are some pictures of me, with the lipstick on. I will be repurchasing!

Drugstore Make up and where i purchase my make up

There are a lot of people who down drugstore make up and talk about how terrible it is. I am not one of those people. There are a lot of products you can find in the cosmetics section at drugstores that can be compared to the stuff in the department stores. I would say about 96% of the make up products i own are from the drugstore and they work perfectly for me. The other 3% i wouldn't know where to classify, like my BH cosmetics lip palette and Coastal scents eye shadow palettes. I ordered them from amazon and they are the closest things i own that come close to the high end brands. So where do i purchase most of my cosmetics? Amazon, Ebay, Walgreens, Walmart and CVS. I LOVE Ebay! I can find a lot of my drugstore products for way cheaper prices than in the stores. There are also sellers on ebay who sell things in bundles or lots as they call it on there. For example, three or more of a certain product. Ebay NEVER lets me down, and i suggest that you check ebay to see if you can find cheaper prices on a product. I never bid, i always use the "Buy it now" feature because i suck at bidding. Maybe one of you could teach me the tricks on winning a bid =]

a mini update on the L'oreal HiP liploss

i did a review on it two posts ago. Well i have to say i absolutely love this lipgloss. It lasts a very long time. Today i went out to do some dorm essential shopping because i go back to school in a week. I left the house at about 12 something, got back to my house at 3 something and the gloss is still on my lips. This is good because i have a lot of lipglosses that fade in less than an hour. I also purchased a new NYC lipstick at walmart. It is a purplish-pinkish color. Will do a review on it tomorrow.

HZ 7049 half wig by Sensationnel

I have had this wig for i would say 3 months now. Didn't really wear it or any of my straigh-ish loose curled half wigs because i was stretching my relaxers for 5 months and new growth + silky hair=No Bueno. Anyways i purchased this hair from hairsisters.com. I trimmed it down a bit because it was too long and i feel like it wouldn't look realistic on me. Shedding and tangling is minimal. If you look up a picture of the half wig you will see that the model does the hair no justice. You have to comb the hair out with a wig brush to get the curls i have because out the pack the hair is thin looking. I would compare this wig to Outre's Naomi except Naomi is thicker and has more body. As always i do not wear my synthetic wigs daily and i alternate to maintain the wigs so i can't tell you how the piece holds up over daily use but i would imagine if you wore it daily it wouldn't last. It would probably tangle, become frizzy at the ends and you would have to end up throwing it away. I guess if you want a half wig piece that lasts for a long time you would have to invest in  human hair piece. I will be making a video in upcoming months. As i said in a previous blog post i am going to spending the fall month in extensions. Overall i love this wig but i don't think i will purchase it again after this piece goes bad. I think Outre's Naomi is better.

L'oreal HiP Brilliant Shine Lipcolor in 382 Enticing

This is the fourth product from the L'oreal HiP line that i own. I ordered it off ebay and i received it just yesterday. At first i was scared because it was red. I own about four red lipsticks but i wasn't sure how it would look on me but i took the chance anyways. The color is actually a dark red which suits me well. Bright reds do not look good on me. I think they are suited for women with lighter skin. I think everyone can wear red lipstick/lipgloss, it is all about finding the right shade to suite your skintone. But anyways i love this gloss so far, i have always wanted a red lipgloss. The more you put the better the color. No weird taste or weird stickyness. Overall i give it two thumbs up.

I think i found my dream wedding dress

I am not even close to marrying (single here!) but that doesn't stop a girl from dreaming. I was looking at Hilary Duff's wedding pictures and i think i have an idea of what i want when the time comes.

Eyebrow threading

My preferred method of eyebrow grooming. It is painful especially the first but beauty is pain and it only takes 5 minutes. It is well worth it, in my opinion =]

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal originating in the Eastern world. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries.

Technique

Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over untidy hairlines, moustaches and other areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line. As a larger area of hair is removed at once, however, it can be relatively painful.

Origin

Threading has long been popular in many Arab countries, and was well known from Indian and Persian culture, where it is known as Bande Abru ("Abru" means eyebrow, and "Band" is the thread). Threading the entire face is widely practised amongst Iranians, but it was originally only done when a woman was getting married or for special occasions. In ancient Persia, threading was a sign that a girl had reached adulthood and become a woman.

Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette

Had to do a review on this one since i did one on the BH Cosmetics Lip Palette. I purchased this in December of 2010 off Amazon. I don't really remember the price but i give this 2 thumbs up. I have always wanted a palette with a lot of colors instead of purchasing singular pots of eyeshadow. If you already have this palette you probably think my colors look out of order but that is because some of the pots in the palette were loose so i had to use poser tacks to put it back in. I love the variety of colors, yellows, golds, greens, blues, pinks, purples ah JUST LOVE IT! Can't really say much on the lasting power but it does last a while on me. I probably need to purchase an eyeshadow primer to make it last even longer but overall i love this palette.

Why i wear wigs and half wigs

No it is not because i am bald and do not have any because i have plenty. Wigs and half wigs are good protective styles. Instead of having to flat iron/curl my hair and damage it with heat to make it look presentable, i can just put on a wig and half wig and save my hair the damage. I could care less what people think honestly, i am not afraid to admit i wear false tresses. There is nothing wrong with it because i know i am protecting my real hair from damage while maintaining and growing my hair.

Wig Fever Long Curly Wig

Ugh such a disaster! This wig doesn't really have a brand but the sellers name on ebay is wigfever. They are in China. I know you all are wary at this point because i mentioned China but bear with me this isn't why this wig was a disaster. I have ordered a lot of products from China and i have always received them. It may take longer than usual but this wig arrived before the estimated arrival date. Okay here we go. After owning Bree for a while i decided that bangs suited me and i wanted to get another wig with a bang...a curly one at that. So i hopped on ebay and found this wig. It was 17.99 when i purchased it but with the shipping it all came out to 29 dollars...i think. Received in less than two weeks. I had to trim up the bang a bit and i thought i could maintain it by not wearing it a lot....WRONG! It sheds and tangles A LOT! I only wore it out in public two times. Plus the scalp is very fake looking. It is while and i am not white and neither is my natural scalp. I just recently tossed this wig back in its original bang and threw to the back of my closet. Overall this was a waste of money but oh well i learned a lesson from it. The lesson is to stay away from loosely curled/wave synthetic wig and half wigs. They are very prone to tangling. From now on i will stick to straight hair like Bree or super curly hair like Amber. Those two types do not give me any problems.

BHCosmetics Lip Palette

I ordered this baby from Amazon i think in December. I do not really use it that much but i love it so far. I wouldn't use some of the colors like the blue's, the silver and the yellow but i do love all the other colors. If you are a person who doesn't want to spend money buying individual lipsticks and glosses then this is for you. I do own other lipsticks and glosses but i still wanted this. I have an 88 color eye palette from coastal scents and i thought it was only right to have a lip palette as well for variety ;-) I highly recommend this. 

Sensationnel Empress Lace front wig bree

all i have to say about this hair is in the video:

i got it in the color 1 from Hairwigharlem.com. I originally ordered it in the color 1b/30 but i was scared about how it would look so i called them up and asked for 1b but there was no 1b so i settled with 1. This wig is gorgeous, everyone thinks it is a weave. Very little shedding and tangling. I have had it for 3 months now and the big reason why it is still lasting so long is because i do not wear it everyday. It is synthetic futura which means it can be curled but i am not taking the chance and ruining this beauty. Even though i ordered it from hairwigharlem i discovered that it is cheaper on divatress.com.  I plan on ordering more Bree's when i get more money. I pretty much cover everything in the video.

Outre Naomi

I purchased this one from hairsisters and it was 17.99. It was one of my first half wig purchases along with Amber. Out of the pack it looks thin, no body and when i tried it on it was way too long so i chopped a couple of inches off. I think most of these wigs never look right out of the pack so you really have to play with it. I brushed/combed out Naomi to get more body. The hair sheds and tangles a bit. It is very pretty though, loose waves/curls. Blending wasn't much of a problem. It lasted only a few weeks though but that is probably because it became my everyday hair and synthetic hair doesn't last too long if you wear it everyday. I learned this with my Sensationnel bree wig which is still going strong after 3 months. I tossed my first Naomi away because it got frizzy and tangled, but i bought another one which i probably i won't wear for awhile because i plan to get a sew in which i will be keeping for 3 months. Also forgot to mention i purchased this and all my other wigs in the color 1B with the exception of Bree which is a 1.

Outre Amber

Okay this was one of my first ever half wig purchases along with Naomi. I haven't done a youtube review on it yet but i will make sure i edit this post and add the video, if i do. First of all i love this half wig. Blending was a bit of a problem at first, i was always using the curling iron but now i have it all figured out. I use soft rollers to blend the front of my hair. I still have this wig, i fingercombed and brushed it out to make it bigger. I actually think it looks better "big" on me because i LOVE big hair. I give this wig 2 thumbs up. I purchased it from apexhairs and i hope they never discontinue it. I plan to make a video when i make another purchase.
