So i was reading one of my favorite message boards and the recommendation of the book “Why men love bitches.” came up. I looked up the book on amazon and luckily the first chapter of the book was put up for free. I read it and felt sad when the first chapter was over.

I really need to purchase this book because i feel like i am too nice when it comes to this dating thing. I have noticed that a lot of times, us women are always overcompensating for men just to get them to make it official. I see girls going out of their way to cook meals, have sex, do laundry and showcase our domestic, “wifey” skills for men who haven’t even made it official with them. For why? to show them that we can cook, clean and whatnot so if they see us doing this stuff for them they will be ready to get on one knee and propose.

The purpose of this book is not to tell women to be bitches as in be a cold, hard to deal with women. It is telling us to be assertive, not overcompensate and not come off as desperate when dealing with men. I see it all the time, a guy loses interest in a woman and she wonders why since she supposedly did everything right. Guys do not go out of their way to overcompensate so why do we?

I have noticed on the dating websites i have guys who live more than half an hour away messaging me and then they decide i am not worth driving such a distance to see. You see, they won’t go out their way to do such nice things for a random ass girl so why do we women go out of our way to please them? If it is anything we should be giving these guys a mental challenge and have them do most of the work.

In the end it should be us women who should be making the final/ultimate decision on whether we want to be with these guys or not. None of this,”where is this relationship going?” business. If it is anything we should be hearing that sentence from men. Men always claim they want a nice gal’ who will cook for them, not a bitch etc  etc….but that doesn’t mean we should be giving them all these things when they have yet to make the commitment. It all makes sense to me now.

This is why i do not listen to these dumb articles that claim that women should pursue men and go out of their way to do so. Yeah, that works out so well. Not! I will be purchasing this book and will be reading it over winter break.

How do i feel about this wig? I am neutral right now. I think i may have finger combed it out a bit too much. Out the pack it is pretty thin and fake looking so you do have to finger comb it out a bit. I do love big hair so i can get used to it. I prefer Gala but i can't wear Gala everyday. Blending was a bit of a problem, i know you all can't see it but i think it would be a match for someone with natural hair. I should have brought my crimper up with me for blending purposes but right now i will settle for a braid out in the front. 

It will be my everyday hair pretty much. With the specifics, this is the second Sensationnel half wig i own. It has a comb in the front and back plus adjustable straps. It fits pretty well, i can't imagine it falling off even on the windiest days. FYI i wore outre's Amber and Naomi on windy winter mornings and i have never had them fall off so this should be fine. This wig does require some big ol' earrings to make it look even more fab =]

i will be making a video when i find a proper way to blend.

Loving it so far, i brushed out the curls when i took it out. No combs but it fits well and i secured it with bobby pins for extra security. Has a skin part at the top, i was afraid it was going to look fake but i love it. Very Kim K! Haven't noticed much shedding but this is the first day so we shall see!

After getting frustrated of waiting i just decided to go to the mall and get my eyebrows done plus while i was there i got some Chinese food and stopped by Sephora and bought a skin primer. I have combination skin and i need it to be under control while under foundation.

Oh and i ordered this package off divatress.com. I highly recommend divatress.com, they don't have as much of a selection as hairsisters but it is so much better. They have cheaper prices plus very fast shipping. Within an hour of ordering it was marked shipped and i received my package 2 days later. It probably came super fast because i am in Pennsylvania and the company is based in Illinois which is about 3 states away.

I won this on ebay ladies and gentlemen. The first ever bid i have ever won on ebay and i have been on ebay for pretty much a year. I guess i didn't have much competition. I was impressed by how fast i received this item considering that these sellers in China can take almost a month to get me my package. I payed $4.15 cents for them and the shipping was free. It also came with free glue, it probably won't last but i will purchase some at walmart sometime. At first i was a bit scared of the lashes considering that i have had trouble applying false eyelashes plus the lashes looked so big and unnatural in the package. I didn't want spider lashes. But i actually watched the "How to apply fake eyelashes" video i posted in a previous entry and gave them a try today and i think i did a good. I need more practice but it looks well and not like spider lashes. It is amazing what some fake lashes can do to the face. I think i will be kissing mascara good bye. 

I also ordered another 10 pair from another seller but i think i prefer the others. Anyways this is what they look like.

Thinking of trying this ombre thing

I was browsing the Victoria's secret website today and came across this picture of Chanel Iman and i love the whole ombre thing she has going on. I have never colored my hair because i am too afraid of color but i think this is something i can work with.

What i think about Scarlett Lace front so far

Okay, so i got impatient and opened up the scarlett package even though i know i can't wear it until i take out these extensions.  So i took it out, cut the lace and brushed out the curls a bit because it looked thin. Let's just say this hair sheds A LOT. I did wrap up my hair and put on a wig cap and it looked strange probably because my hair was bulky underneath but it is a good wig if you can ignore all the shedding. It probably will tangle. I hope to get a few wears out of it. I am also going to trim it up a bit because it is too long on me.

I haven't worn the wig out yet since i have extensions but since it sheds a lot straight out of the pack i think things will will get worse (much much worse). I probably won't re-purchase. I am focusing on saving up to get one of those lace wigs from ebay i blogged about earlier. They are probably better quality.

Also i will probably make a video giving my honest review on it. I have only seen one or two youtube beauty guru's who were honest about the shedding and tangling.

Face of the day 10/8/2011

Today i didn't go anywhere but i still decided to do my make up. I attempted to put on the faux eyelashes but as usual i fail. The guru's on youtube make it seem so easy but it never works out for me. I guess i need to keep on practicing. Anyways i actually tried on the Noor Kajal Kohl Arabian eye liner. I give it two thumbs up. As yo can see my eyebrows need help.

In need of a face mask treatment

I don't know if it is because it is that time of the month but my skin has just been looking awful for the past couple of days. I don't know what is going on because it looked great last week. I felt like my dark spots/blemishes were disappearing and then BAM i look at the mirror and they seem more emphasized. My go to face mask is the Mint Julep Masque by Queen Helene. I ordered one from amazon and had it shipped to my house so i do not have it here with me. I can not wait to go home in two days and give myself a much needed skin treatment. But until then i will just pile on that foundation so i won't feel like crying whenever i look in the mirror.

In need of an eyebrow intervention

Last week i went to the mall and the lady who does the eyebrow threading wasn't at the usual stand. There was a sign that said they moved to the food court. Went down there, didn't see them. Hopefully they are there when i go back because i eyebrows look a mess.
I am just not feeling too hot these days, my skin is acting up.

I was looking for an eyeliner that would give me that dark, sexy, intense look and a lot of these regular eye pencils weren't cutting it for me. So three days ago on ebay i typed kohl into the search and this came up in the results.  I saved it under my "Watch list." because i wasn't sure if i wanted to make the purchase but i actually made the purchase today. I don't really have a review for you all because i just ordered it 2 minutes ago lol but i read a wikipedia article on kohl eyeliner and it hit me that kohl eyeliner is very popular in my tribe/ethnic group. When i was a baby my grandmother used to put it around my eyes. I am a Dagomba girl and a lot of our traditions are pretty close to the Hausas..a very popular ethnic group in Western Africa. My paternal grandmother was a Hausa woman. Anyways i can't wait to receive it.

New Belly Ring from Ebay seller in China

Okay, last year around this time i finally decided to get my navel pierced. It was extremely cute and seemed to be going well/healing well until the 5th month when i developed some bump that just couldn't go away on the bottom hole. 2 months later i developed another bump on the top hole so i ended up taking it out. I took it out in June but prior to that i ordered a belly ring (the pink one pictured at the top) and after it arrived and i saw it, i just thought "This is so cute!" i want to get my belly button redone so i can wear it." I do plan on getting it redone. I took some pictures holding the ring against my tummy.It was actually very cheap on ebay. Like a dollar something with a dollar shipping. Of course since it was being shipped all the way from China it took about 3 weeks.
